So, I’m still on this site and listed as Advisor, so figured I’d do some advising while I’m around.
You’re all obviously new soldiers to the ACP as Cadets here, and your goals likely include a high mod position or even leadership, but don’t think just showing up to battles, following orders and being on chat a lot make you fit for General Positions or Leadership roles. It takes more than just those basics to be a high rank, and that’s something I feel has been lost on today’s ACP. So keep reading, you might end up being a better future General than the rest of the pack because of it, kiddies.
So first off, General positions and leader positions obviously should be expected to predominantly lead battles for ACP. This means you need to be able to calm the chat and command it, doing so requires you to make the soldiers know without a doubt you’re the one in charge, don’t be afraid to use caps to get people in line. Make it absolutely clear that you’re the one calling the shots, When doing tactics, make sure you announce it beforehand, give people a chance to prepare, but don’t take too long, or else your penguins are just sitting idly. I’d order your soldiers to fire snowballs at all times when not doing another tactic, That way you’re constantly in action, and make sure you lead by example.
A second thing is, you have to think like a leader, figure out what strategies are possible with the game, how you can use your forces efficiently. On and Off the battlefield, delegating tasks to fellow Leader and General Ranks will help keep everyone busy and not have you overwhelmed by work. If you want to attack multiple servers at once, find a way to divide your ranks and have Generals lead the attacks while you oversee the operations, keep in communication with your fellow ranks so that everyone is on the same page.
This last note for you all should be important to you right now, as a leader, make sure to engage and keep your soldiers motivated, talk with them, encourage them, give them advice, and of course, what this place was made for, train your soldiers so that they will be strong soldiers in the future for your army. I know leadership or General roles aren’t close by for you guys, but it’s always good to be aware of things you need, and teaching soldiers to lead is something Armies have rarely done well.
I hope this isn’t deleted next time I look on here, cause it’s the only advice I really have to give out to you guys as a co-founder of ACPTR and former General/Division General of ACP.
